DECONSTRUCTING AND CONTAINING INSECURITY IN NORTH EAST AND CENTRAL NIGERIA

Ufuk Dialogue in collaboration with the centre for peace and development, veritas university- Abuja, organized a round table discussion on the topic “deconstructing and containing insecurity in north central and north east” in the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges, Coed conference hall on 29th November,2018. The Discussants were: Prof. Oshita O. Oshita, Immediate DG of Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Dr Remi Ajibewa, Director of Political Affairs of ECOWAS, Mr Austin Onuoha, Executive Director African Centre for Corporate Responsibility and Mrs Olubukola I Ademola-Adelehin, Senior Program and Policy Analyst, Search for Common Grounds.

World TV Day

Ufuk dialogue in collaboration with the Mass Communication department of the Nile university of Nigeria, organized a seminar on 20th November 2018, to mark the celebration of the world Television day in the Nile university of Nigeria lecture auditorium. The theme of the day was “the role of the media in promoting peaceful co-existence in a multicultural society”. The speakers were Mrs Asma Alhusainy, he Deputy Editor Al-Ahram Newspaper, Cairo-Egypt and Mr Nabil Negmeldin of Al Ghad TV Station, Cairo-Egypt.

MEDIA PANEL: COMBATTING HATE SPEECH IN NIGERIAN MEDIA

On 11th October 2018, Ufuk Dialogue Foundation in collaboration with the Rogan Leadership Foundation organized a media panel on the topic “Combating Hate Speech in Nigerian Media” in the Nile University of Nigeria. The speakers where Mannir Dan-Ali, the CEO Daily Trust. Osita Okechukwu, the DG Voice of Nigeria and Chris Ngwodo, an Independent Researcher and Blogger. Also in attendance was the Vice Chancellor Nile University of Nigeria, and delegation from The Center for Democratic Development (C D D ) the new chronicle, the NTA, Nizamiye Hospital, VON, NCWs, Nasarawa state university among others. Also, about 60 students attended the panel from different departments of the university.

UNGA
